Ancient Heritage and Origins Ethiopia is a land of profound history, often cited as the cradle of humanity where some of the world's oldest hominid fossils were discovered. It remains the only African nation never colonized, preserving a unique cultural identity and its own ancient Ge'ez script. The landscape is dotted with rock-hewn churches and obelisks that tell a story spanning millennia.
