Our Story & Mission
Born from a Love of Ethiopia
Travel Ethiopia was founded in 2009 by a small group of local guides who shared one frustration: tourists were visiting the country without truly experiencing it. The rock-hewn churches, the ancient trade routes, the coffee ceremonies, the wildlife — all reduced to a rushed checklist.
We set out to change that. Every itinerary we craft is slow-travel by design, woven around genuine encounters with people, landscapes, and history. We believe the best travel memories are not photos — they are moments of unexpected connection.
Our mission is simple: to offer the world personalised, responsible, and unforgettable journeys through one of the most ancient civilisations on Earth — while ensuring those journeys directly benefit the communities that welcome us.
